Our Science and Maths courses include A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and the Cambridge Technical in Applied Science (Human pathway). This specialism is suitable for students who wish to progress to careers within the field of health science including biomedical science, radiography, pharmacy, physiotherapy, paramedic science and optometry. We also have a specialist programme, Future Medics, for students who are planning to apply to study medicine or dentistry at university.
These courses will strengthen your scientific and mathematical understanding and support you to develop high-level laboratory, research and analysis skills relevant to a range of scientific and health settings. You will learn to work safely and to control hazards.
You will focus on human physiology, nutrition, genetics, microbiology and drug development. Your projects will link to areas such as scientific technology, diagnostics and treatments and multiagency approaches to health.
All science students meet practitioners and gain first-hand information about their work and research, while working on live projects and problems.
You will learn in our simulated health environments and participate in relevant networking and shadowing opportunities with our sponsors, Barts Health NHS Trust, and a wide range of other health practitioners.
