Welcome to Mulberry UTC
Mulberry UTC is a University Technical College (UTC) located in Tower Hamlets. It was established by Mulberry School for Girls and is part of the Mulberry Schools Trust.
The school opened in September 2017 in a brand new building, on the site of the old fire station on the corner of Roman Road and Parnell Road in Bow. UTCs are secondary schools for young people aged 14-19 that are supported by universities and local employers. They were set up by the government to encourage young people to access high quality technical learning and to give them the opportunity to learn the skills that employers are looking for. Students attending UTCs study GCSEs and A-levels as well as technical and vocational qualifications.
Mulberry UTC specialises in preparing young people for careers in Health, Science, Business, Creative Media and Theatre.
Mulberry UTC is supported by the following leading industry partners: Bank of America, Barts Health NHS Trust, the British Film Institute, Goldsmiths University of London and the National Theatre. Our employer partners are represented on the governing body and work closely with the school and its students to prepare them for their future careers.
At Mulberry UTC, students in Year 10 and 11 study the core subjects of English, maths, science, humanities and languages alongside digital learning and the creative arts. This prepares them for specialist study in the Sixth Form, where students study A-levels as well as technical courses in health science, health care, digital media, performing arts and technical theatre. Mulberry UTC is currently accepting applications for students who wish to join us in Year 10 or Year 12.

T-Level in Health
We are excited to be introducing the T-level in Health. This gives you the chance to gain an industry-relevant qualification, equivalent to three A-levels, which will take you on to university, apprenticeships and beyond.
T-levels are new qualifications introduced by the government and designed in partnership with employers. The aim is to make sure young people are learning in a way that prepares them for the workplace.
At Mulberry UTC, we will be offering the T-level in Health from September 2022 onwards. This will give you the knowledge and skills to move into a career in nursing or related areas.
Mulberry UTC provides an enducation that enriches students’ learning with a comprehensive, creative and hands on experience of theatre. Students will learn in a collaborative environment with many exciting, rewarding and challenging career choices.”
Sacha Milroy, Director of Production & Planning, National Theatre
Mulberry UTC’s health care courses have been designed to prepare students for the face to face patient roles critical to ensuring an appropriately skilled, clinical workforce, equipped to deliver new models of care for the NHS.”
Lois Whittaker, Managing Director, Education Academy, Barts Health NHS Trust
We value working with Mulberry UTC and its industry partners to shape a curriculum which reflects the current and future needs of industry and to support the young people of Tower Hamlets to fulfil their potential.”
Frances Corner, Warden, Goldsmiths University of London
